NSC | Add Long Text and Rich Text fields to Pivots in SuiteAnalytics Workbook

edited Jun 2, 2025 2:26PM in SuiteAnalytics Workbook

Scenario

Currently, it is not possible to add Long Text and Rich Text type fields to Pivots in SuiteAnalytics Workbook.

This is parallel to the behavior in Saved Searches that Long Text and Rich Text have the Summary Type grayed out.

The standard behavior is that Character Large Object (CLOB) type fields can't be grouped. Since the main purpose of Pivot tables are to group the data, then the logic is the same. These CLOB fields are unavailable to be selected.

Workaround

Note: This is inspired by the workaround for Saved Searches as documented in SuiteAnswers 24577.

The workaround for Saved Searches is to use a Formula field to get the values of the Long Text type field, then group it.

Howdy, Stranger!
