New to NetSuite | Difference when using "Item:" and "item:" Prefix in Global Search
Did you know?
There is actually a difference in using the prefix "Item:" and "item:" in the Global Search.
From the Global Search, users are able to go directly to View mode or Edit mode of an Item Record depending on the prefix used.
Note: This behavior is also applicable when using other prefixes for other records like Cus: or cus:, Emp: or emp:, etc.
Pre-requisite
To be able to utilize this behavior, the Show List When Only One Result preference should be unmarked under Home > Set Preferences > Analytics > Search.
