What are the implications if no "Opening Balance" entered for an account?
When we first implemented Netsuite, we imported Trial Balances for all of our accounts in several Journal Entries. However, when I go to the Enter Opening Balances screen - ALL of the accounts are still available to have an opening balance entered (if an account has had an opening balance entered, it will not show on this screen anymore). So I guess I have a couple of questions:
- If an account has not had an opening balance entered (via the official screen for doing so) - does that materially impact the accounting functionality in Netsuite?
- Is there a way to go back and modify our imported Trial Balance journal entries so that they are marked as opening balance amounts? (and therefore no longer show up on the Enter Opening Balances screen)
