How to Script re-tries? or a back-off then re-try?

Really appreciate this resource. Received some solid assistance. Thank you.
Today I need to solve for workflows that clash. Or, Workflows that clash with Script. Or, a Workflow that clashes with a user.
We might pursue moving our workflows to Script so that we can have one call the next call the next, so they are not running over top of each other. Perhaps also to take advantages of our SC+ license (if we use MR). I believe we get more horsepower from MR than Workflows, so perhaps a second reason to. If I could move all of these to a series of MR that were strung together to start at 23:59, I bet they'd all be done by 02:00 and we'd be fine.
