Payment Session Amount Overriding behavior Change

Any changes in overriding the Payment Session Amount(for partial credit card payment) in the sales order? We were able to override the Payment Session Amount before. But now it is not overriding the payment session amount, it always defaults to the Total amount. Did anyone know when these changes appeared and any workaround to solve the same?
