Shortcuts open in Edit Mode rather than View Mode
First, I apologize if this is answered elsewhere. I did look for answers in SuiteAnswers and here.
While Shortcuts are not best suited for accessing things like entity and transaction records, creating shortcuts to them is not prevented. What I've noticed though is that when the Shortcut is used/clicked, NetSuite opens the record in edit mode rather than view mode. That can result in a permissions issue in some situations. For example, if someone who doesn't have permissions to edit sales orders creates a shortcut to a sales order, when they try to used that shortcut to open the sales order, they get a permission error.
