How to Customize Project Gantt chart modification?

Hi All,

If there is a way to include comments/notes in a project Gantt chart? Like having a little comment section under where it says progress to put notes about why a project task is delayed, for example. Also, is there a way to customize the chart so that it can show our late tasks in a different color or be marked in a different way (tasks that are past due and incomplete)?
