Why does Est.Unit Cost changed to zero in inventory adjustment?

I am creating an negative inventory adjustment for an item, at time of editing the IA line the est.unit cost value is 10,000, after saving the IA the est.unit cost value is changed to zero, can any one help me to understand the flow of est.unit cost. But this is not happening in sandbox ( While editing the line is est.unit cost is 10,000 and even after saving it remains the same ). I checked all the features in both sandbox and production, all are similar
