Why is the Net Book Value Incorrect after Depreciation?

edited Dec 12, 2022 4:37AM in Ask A Guru 1 comment

Hi There

I have an asset that is being depreciated using the straight line method.

The depreciation schedule is showing the following

The Net Book Value for the period 31/07/2022 appears to be incorrect.

I would expect it to be 24,432.26 (this being the Net book value of 24,963.40 as at end of 30/06/2022 less $531.14 depreciation for 31/07/2022)

Why would this value be incorrect?

Thanks
