How do I highlight lines in Custom Search Portlet?

Hello Guru's

Within a Saved Search the first line is white, second is grey, third is white, etc. This is a good way to separate lines of a Saved Search result.

Is there a way to get this result in a Custom Search portlet? By default, all lines are white.
