How to print the value of a Custom Transaction Line Field with Formula using Advanced Templates?

Hello.

I added a custom transaction line field to the Purchase order form to show the line number (serial number). The unchecked the store field for the formula to work. On adding the field to Advanced PDF, the contents are not showing in the PDF even though the field contains data on the PO. I do not want to use item.line as it does not update if a line is added or removed.

Would appreciate a workaround or any pointers.
