How to Workflow update custom field from a related record
I have a workflow that saves a field based upon a field value derived from a saved search. Can I have the saved field be tied to a list? It is used as a parameter filter on picking and shipping transactions.
Example:
Saved search generates a free form custom field value of 'A' 'B' or 'C' on the sales order
A workflow moves for selected records the value from the first custom field to a stored custom field that can be used in other searches of 'A' 'B' or 'C'. The workflow works if the type of the stored custom field is free form text. It does not seem to work if I set the value to list/record
