Turkey to Türkiye Country Name Change

This notice applies to customers who use the country name for Turkey in NetSuite records.

What is Changing?

As of May 26, 2022, the Republic of Türkiye changed its official full name from the Republic of Turkey. As part of this change, Türkiye has replaced Turkey as the official short name, the ISO short name is Türkiye, and the full name is the Republic of Türkiye. For more information about ISO codes that represent Türkiye, see ISO 3166, TR.

As of NetSuite 2023.1, the default ISO short name in the Setup > Company > Countries menu will be Türkiye. This name change will be available after your NetSuite account is upgraded to 2023.1. After the upgrade, the new name of Türkiye also will be reflected in any existing records, transactions, tax reports, and subsidiaries in your account. Text type fields representing the country of Turkey in your account, such as address fields, will require manual changes.
