Is it possible to prevent thumbnails from hiding when matrix item selected?

Is it possible to prevent the thumbnails from hiding once a matrix item is selected. It would be useful if all he images still displayed once an matrix item is picked.

Example. go to PDP page, all the different colors display as thumbnails. I select a color and then the thumbnails get hidden.
