How can I easily remove a field that is on multiple forms?

My team wants to get rid of the Department and Class fields from the forms we use, I know I can hide this by customizing each form but they're everywhere on POs, SOs, Transfer Orders, Expense reports and more.

Is there an easy way to disable them or make them inactive?
