View Profit and Loss Detail Report by Accounting Period Columns

Is it possible to run the detail P&L report showing the amounts by accounting period column?

I am able to do on the summary report by choosing the Column (filter) = Accounting period. The detail report builder under Edit Columns does have a View Columns By dropdown which I set to Accounting Period but the detail report does not change to matrix as it should.
