Import Contact and Leads

I have a list of trade shows with email addresses, contact person, and company. I can import the company and email address to the leads, but not the contact person. Please advise!

If my existing customers attended the shows, and when importing the data, does the system show an alert message? If the existing customers are not imported, how do I trace if they have attended the shows? Thank you!
