What would cause Tax charges to change after Web Store Credit Card payment has been authorized?

Customer placed an order via our Web Store and authorized for payment:

SO56410 was entered by customer today 9/5/2023, total $ 751.22 this amount was authorized for credit card payment,

Subtotal $691.22

Discount $0.00

Shipping $20.84

Tax $39.16

TOTAL $751.22

When the order was processed for fulfillment total came to $ 761.90

Summary

SUBTOTAL691.22

DISCOUNT ITEM

TAX TOTAL49.84

SHIPPING COST20.84

TOTAL761.90

Any thoughts as to what would cause this to happen?
