How to remove Country field from Checks if the country is set to United States?

Suite answer code gives me an error. I tried to add else statement, but still giving me error?

Scenario

User needs to remove the country from the address when printing checks using Advanced PDF/HTML Template. 

Solution
  1. Navigate to Customization Forms Advanced PDF/HTML Templates
  2. Preferred Advanced Check PDF/HTML Template: Click Edit
  3. Upper Right Corner: Toggle Source Code
  4. Look for the line that contains ${‌check.address}
  5. Replace the line with the code below: 
  6. <#if check.address?contains("United States")>${‌check.address?replace("United States","")} </#if>
