How can we reduce the thickness of the Barcode on PDF templates?

We created an Advanced PDF for creation of Item Label which includes a barcode with a size of 1.5 x 1.5. However, when printed, it is not scannable for some reason. 

Can we reduce the thickness of the barcode? The lines need to be super fine for it to be scannable.
