You are now ready to interact with records within NetSuite. One of the key operations available in SOAP Web Services for accessing Customer records is the "update" operation. This refers to the process of modifying or updating existing data within a system. In the context of NetSuite, which provides SOAP-based web services for integration and data manipulation, the "update" operation involves modifying records in the NetSuite system using the SOAP API.
Here’s the sample body in updating a customer record.

Note:
- To update customer records, employ the UpdateRequest type for the update operation. Ensure you utilize the internalID of the customer whose information you aim to modify.
- You have the flexibility to enhance the Update request by including additional field ID for updating records. Moreover, this capability extends beyond Customer records, allowing updates across various record types. - When updating a list of records (a sublist) within a business record you CANNOT update a specific item in the list. Instead, you must interact with the sublist as a whole. For details, see Sublists in SOAP Web Services.
