Sales reporting of an item individually and as a component of a kit/assembly

HI There

I have a scenario where I have an item, sku ABC123.

This is sold individually and as part of a kit, sku XYZ456

I want to be able to report on how many of ABC123 were sold individually as well as a part of a kit.

Is there an existing report that lets me see this?

Should I use a saved search?
