New to NetSuite | Workflow: Show Message
The Show Message Action of NetSuite Workflows is a direct equivalent of JavaScript/SuiteScript’s alert() function. This function is broadly used for different record types and different scenarios but is mostly used to provide user warnings or instructions.

For this example, a message will appear after a user opens a task record that is assigned to another user.
- Create a New Action.
2. 1. Select Show Message.
3. Set Trigger On = Before User Edit so that the warning appears before the user performs any changes.
