Getting Related Entity Fields from Rest Api MetaData

I am currently building an SuiteApp Integration connecting NetSuite to a third-party application. Part of the integration allows the user to choose and define mappings for which data gets passed across between the 2 systems.
I am using the /record/v1/metadata-catalog/xxx to get the available fields for the given record type. Part of the requirement is being also able to map related fields, therefore I need a way to know what relationships the given record type has and a way to access the fields within that related entity.
Im the example of /record/v1/metadata-catalog/contact, I can see a property showing a relationship,
