How do I get the full payment amount (including applied credits)?

I am working on a saved search and part of the information I need is the full 'payment' applied.  It seems all versions of {amount} (Gross, Transaction total) only get me the Applied To amount and not the Credits Applied amount.  Is there a way to get the Applied To + Credits Applied amount on my search in one line?

Hi @Rebecca Carter,

For clarification, are you referring to combining Bill Credit and Bill Payment?

If you wish to have the combination of both, can you try the Amount Paid field?

If you are creating a Vendor Bill Saved Search and still wants to know the breakdown, here's how you can do it:

1.) Navigate to Lists > Search > Saved Searches  > New

2.) Select Transaction

3.) Under criteria tab:

Select

Type = Vendor Bill

Main Line = True

4.) Under the Results tab:

Here's the formula for the total Bill Payment:

CASE WHEN {applyingtransaction.type} = 'Bill Payment' THEN ABS({applyingtransaction.amount}) ELSE 0 END

For Bill Credit:

CASE WHEN {applyingtransaction.type} = 'Bill Credit' THEN ABS({applyingtransaction.amount}) ELSE 0 END

5.) Save and Run your report

Hi Patrick!

Thank you for responding and apologies on not being clear.  I am working on a search for tracking Customer payments/credits applied.

There is a customer that pays once a month.  I plugged in your example for Bills, however, the 'Applied Transaction' amount is coming through as the full payment for each invoice and not what was specifically applied to that invoice, which duplicates amounts accounted for in the SUM.

But I got it to work by replacing {applyingtransaction.amount} with {applyinglinkamount}
