Assembly Item functionality

Hello Everyone.

I wanted to work on assembly item as per the requirement. Hence tried to test the all scenario. However I am not aware of the proper flow of this item. Like use of BOM, Assembly Build, Etc. Hence please help to know the all steps of assembly item from start.

I want to know the functioning ( Process Steps ) of assembly item.
