Store Value Summary Search field workaround

Hi Gurus! We need to display the Last Vendor Prepayment Date in the Purchase Order. We have created the summary search, 2 fields: destination and source fields, and a workflow to set the value of the source field to the destination field.

It did worked but the user needs to edit and save the record to update the value of the destination field. Is there a way to update the destination field as soon as there is a new value on the source field without the edit/save action?
