Income Statement Custom Field and Columns

I have a question about the income statement layout. We have a custom field called sold-through for the revenue section on the income statement. The sold-through custom field is on the customer records.

When I add the sold-through custom field as a column on the income statement, there are very few unassigned results. When I remove that column and then use the column filter on the income statement, unassigned results come through.

Why is this happening?
