New to NetSuite | Setting Up Token Based Authentication for NSPB

NSPB uses token-based authentication to connect the NetSuite and NSPB applications. A user with the NSPB Integration or Administrator role can set up a consumer key and token ID, which must be entered in EPM Cloud Planning to configure the connection with the NetSuite application.

To Generate Consumer Key and Consumer Secret:

• NetSuite: Navigate to Setup > Integration > Manage Integrations > New.
• NetSuite Next: Click Explore (hamburger icon in the bottom left corner beside the home button). In the menu, go to Setup > Integration > Manage Integrations then click Create Integration button
  • Enter a name for your EPM Cloud Planning application in the Name field.
  • Provide a description in the Description field to identify this integration record in NetSuite.
  • In the State field, leave the default Enabled option.
  • On the Authentication tab, ensure the Token-based Authentication box is checked.
  • Click Save. The Consumer Key and Consumer Secret will be displayed.

Note: The Consumer Key and Secret are shown only once. Ensure to save them securely. If you lose your consumer key and secret, you may regenerate a new ones by following the steps in Regenerating a Consumer Key and Secret

To Generate Token ID and Token Secret:

• NetSuite: Navigate to Setup > Users/Roles > Access Tokens > New.
• NetSuite Next: Click Explore (hamburger icon in the bottom left corner beside the home button). In the menu, go to Setup > User/roles > Access Tokens then click New Access Token button.
  • From the Application Name dropdown list, select the integration record created earlier.
  • Choose the user intended for integration with your Planning and Budgeting from the User dropdown list.
  • Select the appropriate role (e.g., PBCS Integration) from the Role dropdown list.
  • The Token Name field will auto-populate based on the selected values for Application Name, User, and Role.
  • Click Save. The Token ID and Token Secret will be displayed.

Note: The Token ID and Secret are shown only once. Ensure to save them securely. If lost, new tokens can be generated by following the steps to regenerate a Consumer Key and Secret.

To Configure Connection:

1. Log in to your EPM Cloud Planning application and go to Navigator, under Application, click Data Exchange
2. Click Actions, then select Applications.
3. Click Configure Connection icon next to the Delete icon.
4. On the Connections page, click the Add icon and select NetSuite. A pop-up window will appear.
5. Enter a name for the connection in the Name field.
6. Provide a description in the Description field to identify this connection.
7. Choose the Consumer Key Type:
   1. For Default: Enter Token Key and Token Secret.
   2. For Custom: Select NSPB Sync as Connector Type, then enter the Consumer Key, Consumer Secret, Token Key, and Token Secret generated earlier.
8. In the Account field, enter the integration user’s NetSuite Account ID, found in Setup > Company > Company Information > Account ID.
9. Click Test Connection.
