This notice applies to customers who use NetSuite Warehouse Management System (WMS). The upcoming name change for the WMS Limited Access role may affect customizations through scripting.
When Will the Changes Occur?
The e-fix targeted August 8, 2024 includes a name change for the WMS Limited Access role.
What is Changing?
The WMS Limited Access role will be renamed to Specialized User: WMS. The script ID will not change.
Under your billable components, the role name will also be replaced to indicate the number of users to which you can assign the Specialized User: WMS role. Before you assign it, you will be able to customize the role and use your custom role to give access to the app.
The name change will not affect your existing custom roles based on the WMS Limited Access role. You will be able to continue to use your custom roles to access the NetSuite WMS app, including the Ship Central or Smart Count apps that you may have enabled for your custom roles.
In the NetSuite Help Center, the title of the article, WMS Limited Access Role Answer ID 1015849, will also be changed to Specialized User: WMS Role.
Required Actions
Before the August e-fix, check your custom scripts for this role or the app to determine whether they reference the WMS Limited Access name. If they do not reference the name, no further action is required from you.
However, if your custom scripts do reference this name, after the August e-fix, update them with the new name. Remember to test your updated customizations.
Access the NetSuite WMS app using the Specialized User: WMS role or your custom roles based on it.
