Journal entries line billable ?

Is there any way to make the line items of a journal entry billable just like an expense in a vendor bill? 

I would be using this for salary/fringe as well as pre-paid. The journal entry moves it to an expense in a particular accounting period, but I want to tie that expense to a customer and pick it up the invoice to that customer.
