This notice is intended for customers who use NetSuite Field Service Management (FSM). With the NetSuite 2024.2 release, changes were made to custom records with the access type No Permission Required. To allow more control over who may access custom record entries, NetSuite 2024.2 introduced a more precise setup. For more information, see the help topic, Setting Permissions for a Custom Record Type, SuiteAnswers ID 10148.
What is Changing?
Field Service Management version 2025.01.1, targeted for release on February 18, 2025, updates the following custom records:
- Field Service Employee Non Working Day
- Field Service Non Working Day
- Field Service Work Calendar
- Field Service Consumable
- Field Service Time Zone
For these custom records, the access type will change from No Permission Required to Use Permission List. The following roles will be updated and will now have Full permission access to these custom records, by default:
- Field Service System
- Field Service Manager
- Field Service Technician
- Administrator
If you have created custom roles that require access to these custom records, you must review and update their permissions after your account is upgraded to version 2025.01.1.
Required Action
You must review your custom roles after your account is upgraded to version 2025.01.1 on February 18, 2025.To review and update the access levels of custom roles:
- Go to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles.
- Click Edit beside the appropriate custom role.
- On the Permissions subtab, click the Custom Record subtab.
- Review and grant access to the following custom records as you see fit:
- Field Service Employee Non Working Day
- Field Service Non Working Day
- Field Service Work Calendar
- Field Service Consumable
- Field Service Time Zone
- Click Save.
- Repeat steps 2 – 5 for each custom role.
