Guidance on Developing a NetSuite App & Best Practices

Hi,

We are planning to develop a NetSuite app for our customers and would like guidance on the best approach. Specifically, we are exploring the use of SuiteApps or bundles, but it seems that the Bundle method is being deprecated.

Could you provide insights into the pros and cons of these methods? Additionally, what is the recommended approach for:

  • Web Services: SOAP vs. REST Web Services vs. RESTlets
  • Upgrades & Customization: Best practices for handling app updates and allowing customer-specific customizations (e.g., adding custom fields for integrations)

Any documentation or resources that could help us navigate this would be greatly appreciated.
