How do you handle these common Lease Modification issues?
- Part way through the lease terms, we expand the total square footage. The lease is amended to increase the square footage and the monthly rent.
- Part way through the lease term, we negotiate a reduction in rent due to the initial amount stated on the lease to be incorrect. The lease amendment calls for a decrease in the monthly rent.
- Part way through the lease term, the sales tax included in the monthly rent changes. There is no lease amendment done but the monthly rent is changed.
- A few months into a lease, the landlord advises us we are paying the incorrect rent as there is a typographical error. The monthly lease amount needs to be changed.
