NSC | How to Add Validation on Save Using Workflows
Let’s say you want to ensure that a custom field—like “Expected Delivery Date”—is not left blank before a sales order is saved. Instead of relying on scripts, you can use a workflow to enforce this validation. By setting up a simple condition and triggering an error message on save, you can guide users to complete required fields and prevent incomplete or incorrect data from being saved—no coding needed.
Go to Customization > Workflow > Workflows > New.
- Set the Record Type (e.g., Customer, Sales Order).
- Enter a Name, then set:
- Sub Type: Standard (unless you're using a specific type).
