NSC | How to Copy Line Memo to Header Memo on Journal Entries
When Journal Entries (JEs) are automatically created by an integrated purchasing system, the line-level memos are populated, but the header memo field remains blank. Since NetSuite’s Bank Data Matching tool displays only the header memo, this creates visibility issues for reconciliation.
Solution:
NetSuite doesn’t provide a native way to roll up line memos into the header memo field, but you can implement a workaround using:
- A custom non-stored field on the Journal Entry header
- A Saved Search to extract and concatenate line memos
- A Scheduled Workflow to copy that value into the standard header Memo field
Step 1: Create a Custom Transaction Body Field
