NSC | Custom Field - Source values from BOM to Work Order
In NetSuite, some companies require their Work Orders to source a Custom Field from the Bill of Materials. Unfortunately, this is not possible natively. However, a workaround for this would be to use a Saved Search and a Custom Field. In this article, we'll guide you on how to do this.
Create a Transaction Saved Search:
Criteria subtab:
- Filter: Type
- Description: is Work Order
Results subtab:
- Field: <The Custom Field on your BOM>
- Summary Type: Maximum
Available Filters subtab:
- Filter: Internal ID
Create a Custom Field (Work Order):
- Type: Free-Form Text
- Store Value: Unchecked
- Applies To: Work Order/Assembly Build
