Field validation for duplicate custom records checking

Hi

I have a custom record and would like to have a field validation for duplicate IDs when creating a new record.

Use case:

  • User creates a new custom record.
  • User enters in ID field 123456.
    • Another custom record already contains this ID.
  • NetSuite to flag a warning message this is duplicate ID and does not allow user to save record.

Please advise.
