Is it possible to create a workflow state condition to compare text fields as equal or not equal?

I have a custom workflow for procurement approvals; our company is small so staff wear many hats which can make approvals complex to standardize. (And to think I used to carry all this in my head and made it work.)

In our current workflow, some approvers must approve the same procurement transaction 3 times. Example: our CFO may approve 1st as an Employee Supervisor, 2nd as a Class manager, 3rd as the CFO due to the dollar value.

Our Purchase Order transaction carries a check box and name of the approver assigned as pulled from the system. When the appropriate user approves (Next Approver), the workflow marks the check box beside the name.

Howdy, Stranger!
