Dropship PO cannot be received

On clicking on the receive button on the dropship PO, an error was thrown while saving the item receipt, saying "this line as marked shipped. This line cannot be received". We have referred to the suite answer and found that the issue can be resolved by selecting " Allow" in the Allow Both Mark Shipped Fulfillments and Receipts on a Drop Shipment Line.

However, I want to know if it will affect any other existing functionality?
