NetSuite provides a powerful set of tools for managing financial processes, including bank reconciliation. One of the key features that streamline this process is the Reconciliation Rules page. However, for many users navigating to the Reconciliation Rules page can be a bit confusing. NetSuite’s flexible interface provides multiple ways to access this important feature, depending on your role, permissions, and the specific configuration of your account.

Whether you prefer using the navigation menu, leveraging global search, or utilizing shortcuts, understanding these options will help you work more efficiently and make the most of NetSuite’s reconciliation capabilities.

Below are different ways to access Reconciliation Rules page:
- Navigate to Transactions > Bank > Reconciliation Rules
- Navigate to Transactions > Bank > Match Bank Data
Then, hover on ellipsis menu or more options menu > Click Reconciliation Rules.
- Navigate to Transactions > Bank > Banking Import History > Upload File
Then, hover on ‘More’ link > Click Reconciliation Rules.
- On Global Search, just simply type ‘reconciliation’ or ‘reconciliation rules’ and click on the results.
- The Reconciliation Rules page can also be added to and accessed through Shortcuts.
- To add it to the Shortcuts, open the Reconciliation Rules page in a new tab. Go to the Home page, click on the Personalize link, select Standard Content, and then choose the Shortcuts portlet.
On the Shortcuts portlet, hover over the more options (ellipsis) menu, then click New Shortcut.
Copy the URL of the Reconciliation Rules page opened in the separate tab. In the Add Shortcut pop-up window, enter your desired name, paste the copied URL, and (optionally) check the "Open in New Window" box. Then, click Save.
- Once saved, the Reconciliation Rules page can now be accessed through the Shortcuts portlet or by hovering over the Star icon.
This is what the "Reconciliation Rules" page will look like, the System Rules are marked active by default:
Note: These navigational paths are readily available using Administrator role. For custom roles, required permissions and levels must be granted to access the Reconciliation Rules page.
To ensure the custom role can access the Reconciliation Rules page, the Administrator can grant the 'Matching Rules for Online Banking' permission. They can further customize access by setting the permission level to at least Create, Edit, or Full, depending on the desired level of user interaction with the rules.
