Inbound Shipment Status Changes back to Open of Item Receipt is Edited

Is this Native NetSuite behavior - I cannot seem to locate documentation to address this. Client has a script setting landed cost on item receipt and it seems each time they edit an item receipt it is re-opening closed InBound Shipments associated with the item receipt.
