Remove comma's from Shipping address

Hi,

I have been trying to create workflow for removing comma's from shipping address, Address 1 field. I tried field as shipping address, ship to. then formula as REPLACE({shipaddr}, ',', ''), REPLACE({shipaddr1}, ',', ''),REPLACE({addr1}, ',', '')

not sure what I am missing. can anyone please help?
