Financial Institution Connectivity and Parser Plugin: Can the imports be scheduled?

If a custom financial institution connectivity plug in was set up with a financial instituion parser plug in, how would data be downloaded?

1 Would it be on a schedule?

2 Does the schedule need to be configured as a script input for either the financial insitutuion connectivity plugin or the financial institution parser plug in? (if so, which one?)
