Hyperlink custom field dynamic anchor tag stopped working

I have had an Item Hyperlink custom field that had the following code in it. we had an anchor tag that just surfaced the dynamic value of the item ID. Then on Friday the field is now showing the hyperlink code in it's entirety and not just the item ID. Did anyone else have this issue.

It has worked fine for the last 1 year and 8 months until last Friday.
