Inherit Sales Rep from Customer

Hello, I assigned a Sales Rep to a customer, but when I created an invoice for them, the Sales Rep field on the invoice remained blank. I expected it to populate automatically. Do I need to enable a specific feature to ensure the Sales Rep carries over to transactions? Thank you.
