When different roles work on the same record, you may want a field to default differently depending on the user. This can help standardize data entry and support role-specific processes.
Because standard field defaulting does not support role-based logic by itself, this setup is usually handled through a workflow.
What is a Conditional Default Value Based on Role?
A conditional default value is a value that is automatically assigned to a field when a record is created or edited, based on a condition.
In this case, the condition is the current user’s role.
