Customer Center Customization

I've asked my developers to make several customizations to the Customer Center to improve user experience, but they tell me it is "locked down" and they cannot fulfill my requests.

My requests include:

  • Add filtering to search results;
  • Allow users to export search result data (excel, PDF);
  • Change results sort order;
  • Add/remove columns from make a payment page;
  • Ensure that search results are specific to the Type searched. For example, Payment searches currently return Invoices and Credit Memos.

Is customization in the Customer Center truly impossible? If not, how can these changes be implemented?
