Pulling in Child Matrix items Into Search Only Using Criteria that Exists on Parent

Hi,

I'm trying to create a search that includes the children of matrix items even though the information that would qualify them to appear on the search only exists on their parent.

The info specifically is the commerce category the parent item is in.

Is there a way to create a search that includes the children of those items?
