SuiteTip: Limit Results Columns to Improve Usability
Welcome back to another SuiteTip! In this article, we’ll focus on improving Saved Search usability by simplifying the Results tab.
Saved Searches can easily become cluttered with too many columns, making them harder to read and less effective. NetSuite supports flexible result display options, but thoughtful design is key to making searches actionable.
Keep your results clean and focused:
- Limit results to 5–10 key columns where possible
- Prioritize fields that support decision-making:
- Document Number / Name
- Status
- Key amounts (Total, Balance)
- Relevant dates
- Move less critical fields to:
- Drill-down records
- Separate supporting searches
For Example:
- Before Optimization: 20+ columns including formulas, joins, and rarely used fields
